Elaine Moore presented a check for $1,000 to Altrusa of Montrose today from Montrose City Council as part of their Community Support Funding. This grant will help fund Altrusa's Buddy Bag project.
Buddy Bags are large canvas bags filled with children's books, coloring books, crayons, and other items. The bags are given to children by Tri-County Resource Center, Montrose Medical Mission, Montrose Community Dental Clinic, and Adult Education Center when they or their parents visit those organizations for services. Members of Altrusa cut the fabric and sew the bags using the professional equipment at Powderhorn Industries in Montrose.
