We were very pleased to welcome Governor Rhoda Struhs to our meeting on September 25, 2007.
Governor Struhs spoke to our group about a number of topics of interest to Altrusans. She encouraged us to visit the international website as it continues to be enhanced with information, publications, and inspiriation for all of us. She congratulated our Montrose club for our history as a "flagship organization," and commended us for our numerous projects, active participation in Conferences, and our numerous awards.
Rhoda also gave an interesting presentation based on a workshop at the 2007 Convention discussing the differences among 4 major "generations" -- Traditionalists (born 1925 - 1945), Baby Boomers (1946 - 1964), Generation X (1965 - 1980) and Generation Y (1981 - 2002). Our differences in priorities and goals sometimes make it difficult to understand and motivate one another; yet each generation has much to offer to Altrusa.
President Susan Woody announced that Altrusa of Montrose is making a donation in Rhoda Struh's name to the International Foundation.
