ASTRA Service Projects
We're very proud of the young people in our ASTRA club! In a presentation at our meeting today, they announced that they currently have 21 members. This past year, they participated in the following projects and excellent causes:
- Bosom Buddy Walk/Run for Breast Cancer - $500 donation
- Voices for Children
- Christmas wreaths - $500 raised
- Donation of $200 to ASTRA Club in Alabama to help tornado victims there
- Flamingo Flockings - $1,000 raised for the Invisible Children's Fund

52nd Annual District 10 Conference awards
We are proud to announce that our Montrose chapter won several honors at the 52nd Annual District 10 Conference this year:
Mamie L. Bass Service Award - for our E-Waste Community Service Project (recycling of electronic waste, such as computers, TVs, and batteries)
Nina Faye Calhoun Award for International Service Project - for our support of a water purification project for a community in Mexico
Jen Henson Environmental Award - 2nd place - for the E-waste project
We were again recognized with a Distinguished Club Award
