Altrusa provides scholarships to area students

Altrusa members honored this year's scholarship recipients and their families at a meeting on May 12, 2015. Five local students were selected to receive scholarships of $1,000 each.

L to R: Cheyenne Foster, Zane White, Brenna Gaber, and Marisa Jahnke.
Not pictured: Theresa Tafoya.
Cheyenne Foster will be attending the Delta/Montrose Technical College studying early childhood education. Zane White from Olathe High School will attend the University of Alaska at Fairbanks studying fire science. Brenna Gaber from Montrose High School will attend Fort Lewis College.  She was planning to study agriculture business but that major is no longer offered, so she has selected a double major to approximate the same overall studies. Marisa Jahnke from Montrose High School will attend Colorado Mesa University studying counseling psychology and art education. Theresa Tafoya from Olathe High School will attend Regis University studying biology with a medical focus.

The scholarship review committee was extremely impressed with these five candidates and our entire Altrusa club wishes each of them great success in their future studies.
